work placement at homebush

The event was for Spirituality and sexuality and my role was to quickly and safely usher students to their seats, in school orders filling the seats from left to right, for each seminar speaker my responsibility was to guide students in and out of the theatre. I learnt how to handle different cultures and attitudes and how to maintain control and staying calm. For example my customer service was of high standards always greeting people with a smile and a welcoming tone of voice. Along with this I provided information to the students by giving directions to toilets and the canteen etc. I also was allowed to sit in on the speakers talks and I enjoyed listening to all the various information and advice.
I worked 8 hours from 8 am till 3 pm... overall it was a great and successful day and I learnt much more and gained experience and skill with controlling large amounts of people.

JMC ACADEMY SHOWCASE 16th november

EVALUATION:

Enmore Theatre Newtown

1.

Audio: 4/5

Vision: 4/5

Lighting: 5/5

Staging: 4/5

Venue: 5/5

On the 16th of November I visited the Enmore theatre with my yr 11 entertainment class to observe 5 main areas, audio, vision, lighting, staging and the venue. JMC put on a great show and was very entertaining, at the very beginning of the show they had some technical difficulties with the audio for the slide show up on the projector screen, however once the students of JMC worked together and fixed the problem the show went on smoothly, with great acts from all the JMC students, two entertaining hosts. The audio and sounds were at good volume levels and the lighting was to a minimum apart from the acts, the lighting worked well with the acts. And the venue was great, as there were ushers to your seats, bathrooms were clean and there was food and beverage was available also for refreshments.

above all it was a great show.

PEER EVALUATION

Task: Read another class members post about their role in the school musical. Write feedback on one persons page that you worked with or observed during the musical. Evaluate their work efforts, abilities and success.

EVALUATION: CHANTELLE SURACE

I believe Chantelle worked very well and cooperated successfully during the Musical, her role was prompting and in general backstage too. I was alongside Chantelle at times as i was also backstage nearby... I observed her work hard to help the cast and run lines that may have been forgotten, therefore before the scene chantelle would be present with a script to run lines and boost the casts confidence!

In one performance we were short on backstage crew meaning Chantelle was in need of more help, although it was difficult she worked hard and was successful as she worked well in a team and prepared other helps to help lifting heavy objects.. this is another aspect in which she worked well to make the production a huge success!
